1. Go over the unit theme of the unit we just completed. Have them do the reflection and hand it in.
2. Introduce the next theme by playing a couple of Trust games.
Game 1
Wind in the Willow: In groups of 8, 1 student in the middle closes their eyes and leans back and is passed from person to person around the circle.
Game 2
Gauntlet: Entire Class stands in pairs with arms straight out in front of them. One person runs down the alley and students have to raise their arms at the last second. Student then joins the other end of the line.
Game 3
Everyone stands in a circle and tightly holds hands. Every second person “falls” backwards while the other players “fall” forwards. Then, players switch directions. The feet remain in a standing position and don’t move. Goal: Trust that the decision works.
What is the common link? Explain our next theme is Speetlum (Bitterroot) or nurturing relationship and fostering trust
2. Read Green Eggs and Ham. Record the Key ideas
3. Complete reflection on hike and First Contact
