5. Read “Whiter Amelia Earhart” and answer questions
-Clip on Wright brothers (approx 2 min in)
6. Present their answer to the synthesis questions
7. Fold Airplanes, we will have a competition tomorrow.

2. What do they think makes good directions? Put their ideas on the board
3. Give them a demo of following bad directions with wrestling an alligator
4. Hand out some bad directions and ask them if they are good directions. Have them critique them
5. Handout the assignment and explain
6. Show them ideas on the overhead. Explain that whatever they choose they must bring in supplies for them

2. Present articles/youtube clips on the benefits of keeping an animal in captivity. Have students record one of their key facts on the board. Go over the main reasons together and discuss.
3. Give out the sheet for Black Fish and go over how to fill it out. Begin the movie

2. Fill in their persuasive paragraph sheet. Then, must use it to write a paragraph arguing for or against keeping animals in captivity, create a news clip/story or poem. Due at the end of next class.

2. Divide students into groups of 3
3. Give them an info package on one of the offered topics (let them choose, but only one group per topic)
4. 15-20 minutes to read their packages, discuss, decide on key points and get ready to present:
WRITE ON BOARD:
1. Decide what the KEY MESSAGE of your section is. What do you want to get across to the audience? (Remember-lives are at stake)
2. What are the 3 most important (or most interesting) support points?
3. How are you going to make your presentation interesting and memorable?
5. Present first 2/3rds of groups.
6. Do ninja mask/throwing star activity.
